Carreira

Michael teve seu início no palco de Londres aparecendo em várias produções teatrais, incluindo papéis principais em Spring Storm por Tennessee Williams e Beyond the Horizon por Eugene O'Neill no Royal National Theatre , uma adaptação de The Great Gatsby no papel de Jay Gatsby e em a Original London Company do Million Dollar Quartet no papel do cantor Elvis Presley. 

Malarkey também apareceu em vários projetos de cinema e televisão, incluindo os curtas Good Morning Rachel (2009) e Ghost in the Machine (2012), bem como em papéis recorrentes nas séries Raw for Rte e Sloane com Nick Frost antes de conseguir o papel de Lorenzo. Enzo St. John na 5 ª temporada da série de televisão The Vampire Diaries como um personagem recorrente. Michael had his start on the London stage appearing in several theatrical productions, including lead roles in Spring Storm by Tennessee Williams and Beyond the Horizon by Eugene O'Neill at the Royal National Theater, an adaptation of The Great Gatsby as Jay Gatsby and the Original London Company of the Million Dollar Quartet in the role of singer Elvis Presley. 

Malarkey has also appeared in several film and television projects, including the short films Good Morning Rachel (2009) and Ghost in the Machine (2012), as well as recurring roles in the Raw for Rte and Sloane series with Nick Frost before earning the role of Lorenzo Enzo St. John in season 5 of the television series The Vampire Diaries as a recurring character. After gaining popularity with the viewing audience, Malarkey's role has been upgraded to a regular series, starting in season 6 and ending at the end of season 8. 

In 2017, he appeared as "Dizel" in Jean-Claude Van Johnson for Amazon Video, as "Sam Foster" in The Crackle Oath, and as "Cinch Barton" in the movie A Violent Separation. 

He released his debut album "Mongrels" on September 8, 2017, accompanied by music videos for the singles "Uncomfortably Numb" and "Mongrels" himself. 

Michael currently plays the role of Captain Michael Quinn in the Blue Book Project for The History Channel.

Michael nasceu de um pai irlandês-americano e uma mãe britânica de origem Árabe e Italiana . A sua família se estabeleceu em Yellow Springs, Ohio . Ele é o mais velho dos três irmãos. Em 2006 Malarkey viajou para Londres, Inglaterra, para estudar na Academia de Música e London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art . Ele é casado com Nadine Lewington, uma atriz inglesa, com quem tem um filho chamado Marlon.
